BRIEF OVERVIEW: In prehistoric times the immense Lago Tauca slowly evaporated making the Salar de Uyuni of Bolivia. This vast salt flat is one of the largest in the world and contains some extraordinary geological features such as impressive geysers, natural hot springs, volcanoes, and the famed Colorado "Red" Lake. We will travel by 4x4 vehicles in order to discover the 7,705-square miles of Salar, which encompasses almost all of the Daniel Compos Province. The Salar de Uyuni is an experience that is filled with the exploration of a unique and fascinating environment, an environment that is geologically mind boggling and well off the beaten path.
